If you are just looking for some software to control the content of your brochure site, then there are a number of very cheap solutions on the market. The fundamental rule is that content management software allows you to change web pages without knowledge of HTML.
The normal situation would be that a web designer has built a website to your specifications and installed the CMS to allow you to edit the content and images on the site. The trick here is that you have not had to create the initial design or layout of the site – you only take control once this has been completed.
Some web designers and web agencies have developed their own CMS and they may be included in the price of your website or charged as an optional extra. A good entry-level CMS will allow you add new sections to your website, create links, edit content, add images, alter navigation buttons and even change the colour and font of your site. Certainly most commercially available CMS will do this for as little as £100 (Macromedia Contribute is an example).
If you are looking for an even simpler CMS, you may want to look at using blogs. Blogs have become pretty wide-spread over the Internet and many individuals, let alone companies, use them to publish diaries and commentaries on their lives. A search for blogs will keep you busy for hours and learning how to use them will entertain you for days.
